I have a proven track record of making the tough decisions independent of special interest groups and in favor of district taxpayers. My only job is to represent you and our district on the County Board. My initiatives and voting record demonstrate that government can be fiscally responsible and still address community issues like public safety, parks and health care.

As Parks Committee chair, I am a strong advocate for protecting and preserving our valuable parks and open green spaces.
I sponsored the successful legislation to save the County Grounds and prevent lakefront parkland from being sold for development. My efforts have improved park safety, saved wading pools and golf courses from being closed, added needed maintenance funds, and expanded recreational opportunities for families and children.
Maintaining 15,000 acres of urban parkland in tough fiscal times is a challenge -- one I have met time and time again.
